Fonovisa Multi-Platinum Recording Artist Los Temerarios Nominated Among the 47th Annual Grammy® Awards Nominees
Woodland Hills, CA -- Reflecting a year of continued ground breaking success, superstar recording artists Los Temerarios earned a nomination for the 47th Annual GRAMMY® Awards to be held at the Staples Center on February 13, 2005 in Los Angeles, CA, as it was announced today by The Recording Academy.
On the heels of Platinum and Gold recognition in the U.S. and Latin America award-winning ‘grupero romantic’ group Los Temerarios, earned a nomination in the category of ‘Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album’ for their album “Veintisiete.”
Los Temerarios’ album “Veintisiete,” which celebrates their twenty-seven year anniversary has already obtained them critical acclaim in the United States, Mexico and Latin America. Upon release date, this album debuted at No.1 on the Top Latin Albums chart, according to Nielsen/SoundScan and remained a mainstay for nine weeks at Top 5.
Simultaneously, the first single “Que De Raro Tiene” held the No.1 position for five consecutive weeks on the ‘Hot Latin Tracks’ chart and a stronghold on the ‘Regional Mexican Airplay’ chart for nine consecutive weeks at Top 3.
The group’s success has spread to Latin America, evidenced by a recent promotional tour in Argentina, Bolivia and Chile, where they participated in a high profile benefit Telethon. In addition, the group also earned a nomination for ‘Lo Nuestro Latin Music Award’ one of the most prestigious awards in the Latin music industry.
Collectively, Los Temerarios’ achievements are as remarkable as they are numerous, spawning groundbreaking RIAA certifications with their most recent albums: “Una Lagrima No Basta,” which received a Gold (500,000) album; the album “Como Te Recuerdo” which garnered a Platinum album (1,000,000) in 2000 and the most recently lauded album “En La Madrugada Se Fue,” which was certified Gold (500,000) in 2000, and is now certified with a Platinum (1,000,000) album.
Add to that their most recent CD/DVD collections titled “Tributo Al Amor” an album that has remained more than 39 weeks on Billboard’s ‘Top Latin Albums’ since its release date in 2003 and their most recent “Regalo De Amor” featuring an incredible duet with the legendary Julio Iglesias on the song “Esos Amores.”
Led by brothers Gustavo A. Alba (vocals) and Adolfo Angel Alba (singer-songwriter, arranger and musical director) and cousin Fernando Angel, together they have redefined romantic Latin music through lyrics that engulf the human sensibilities of love, happiness, melancholy, heartbreak and sadness.
Without a doubt, this nomination continues to add to the success of Los Temerarios’ already extensive musical career.
