Ford, Univision and Telefutura 69 Have Joined Forces with the YMCA To Bring Families Together Through Sports Related Activities

Miami, FL -- Building and strengthening families is paramount in the advancement of today’s society. Families that play together, stay together, and strong families create strong and healthy communities.  With this in mind, Ford, Univision and Telefutura 69 have joined forces with the YMCA to create  “Familias jugando…creando sueños”, an educational campaign encouraging families to participate in sports and other team activities offered by the YMCA.

The campaign, which is divided into different phases is geared towards educating the Hispanic community about the importance of sports and family activities. This will provide the Hispanic community with Summer Safety Tips and a Summer Safety Festival encouraging the Hispanic community to participate in YMCA activities. The last phase of this effort will center around the  “Dando una Mano” (Lending a Hand) Campaign, which will encourage Univision and Telefutura viewers to volunteer in their community and in the programs sponsored by the YMCA.

The Summer Safety Festival will be held on July 27th and a separate Sports Rally will be held on Saturday, September 28th .  Both events will take place at YMCA locations in Homestead, Allapattah and Southwest Miami. The Summer Safety Festival will be a day-long program where South Floridians will have the opportunity to educate themselves on overall summer safety including swimming safety; automotive safety
and household safety. The YMCA will also be holding several important CPR demonstrations executed by their staff and by community health professionals.
