28th Major Sweep Win for WLTV-23 in Total Day Viewing

Univision Station Out-Performs During November 2004 Sweeps Sign On to Sign Off, Prime Time


Miami, FL -- The November 2004 Sweeps period ended last night and data show Univision-owned station, WLTV, Channel 23 outperformed its English and Spanish-language competitors, placing #1 during total day and prime time and also had the most watched local newscasts at 6 pm and 11 pm, according to the Nielsen Station Index (NSI).

WLTV-23 was Miami’s highest rated station for many key dayparts. Household rating highlights from the November NSI sweep (November 4 – December 1, 2004) include the following:
 
· WLTV-23 reigns as the most watched station during total day (Monday-Sunday, 7am-1am) among households for the twenty-eighth major book in a row.  Scoring a 4.5 NSI rating with a 10 share, WLTV-23 outperformed the second ranked station WFOR, a CBS affiliate, by 7%, which ended the sweeps with a 4.2 rating and a 9 share.

· WLTV-23’s strong prime time weekday novelas such as “Rubí” and “Amor Real,” as well as new programming, “Lo Veremos Todo con Niurka y Bobby,” on Tuesdays 10-11pm, secured the number one spot during prime time (M-Sa/8-11 p.m., Su/7-11 p.m.), prevailing over the prime time line-ups on all other broadcast stations.  WLTV-23’s 7.8 NSI rating and 11 share, out-performed its nearest competitor WFOR, the CBS affiliate by 7%, WPLG, the ABC affiliate by 50% and WTVJ, the NBC affiliate by 77%.

· WLTV-23’s local news programs continued to deliver the finest performance.  “Noticias 23” at 6 pm is the #1 newscast with a 7.3 NSI rating and a 13 share, beating all other English and Spanish language early evening newscasts. WLTV-23 outperformed the #2 rated newscast on WSCV, the Telemundo affiliate, by 20%.

· WLTV-23’s news strength continues with the late news at 11 pm. “Noticias 23” also claims the number one spot, with a 6.3 rating and an 11 share, out-performing its closest competitor, the CBS affiliate, WFOR by garnering 9% higher ratings.

· WLTV’s early morning local news show, “Al Amanecer” posted a remarkable rating point increase with a +36% growth over the last year.  This increase places it at an impressive second place, behind the FOX affiliate, WSVN. 

· WLTV-23 early fringe demonstrated phenomenal performances.  “Primer Impacto” from 5 pm to 6 pm, secured the number one position in the time period with a 6.0 NSI rating and a 12 share.  “El Gordo y la Flaca” at 4 pm to 5 pm garnered a 5.3 rating and a 12 share, placing it second behind “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on WFOR, the CBS affiliate.
